Let's Catch Up @ Natuurhistorisch Museum Maastricht

On Sunday 26 May, the exhibition about the prehistoric 'ENCI whale' starts. On the first day of the exhibition, one of our Let's Catch Ups takes place. During the 'Making of Walvis!' event, John Jagt, who is the initiator of the exhibition wants to share all his knowledge about the whale.

When: Sunday 26 May
Where: Natuurhistorisch Museum Maastricht (De Bosquetplein 7)
Price: Regular entree fee

In his talk, John Jagt, curator of palaeontological collections and initiator of the exhibit 'Whale. Locality: Maastricht' will show you what he himself has learnt about whales. Why was this topic chosen, how did preparations for it proceed and how were illustrations assembled; these issues will be highlighted. The whale remains from the former ENCI quarry take centre stage in all of this. They are compared to species from elsewhere in Europe, for example, from the floor of the North Sea and from Ukraine.

Please note that you are a LCU visitor when making your reservation and you will receive the Whale exhibition catalogue for free. One book per reservation.
