IND Annual Report 2021
19 July 2022The Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst - IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service) Annual Report was published last month (in Dutch). According to the IND the most important themes of their annual report were; Covid-19 and the knock-on effects for the IND, high numbers of refugees coming to the Netherlands as well as a peak in the processing of citizenship requests.
This year’s annual report provides – in addition to an overview of relevant data and figures from the past year – interviews (in Dutch) with a few IND staff members on relevant topics. These interviews cover; matching the right IND services to each applicant, how the IND were able to reduce the amount of judicial procedures in response to care of refugees as well as handling the challenges of 2021 in combination with changes in refugee influx.
