Programme Partner: Week in Week uit

Interview with Paul Pinxten, Chief Operating Officer

20 April 2023

Each month we’re going to give one of our Programme Partners the floor and introduce themselves and their services so you can ensure you’re getting the most out of life in the Maastricht Region. This month we interviewed Paul Pinxten, Chief Operating Officer at Week in Week uit.

I am Paul Pinxten, I am from Maastricht and I am the Chief Operating Officer at Week in Week uit  – a cultural calendar providing information on cultural institutions and events in Maastricht and the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. Our fortnightly brochure has a distribution of over 8,000 and we have been the go-to agenda for culture in Maastricht for over 30 years.

How has your organisation been involved with Expat Centre Maastricht Region?
We have been an Expat Centre partner for a long time. We try to make all our information available in English where possible so non-Dutch speaking residents can settle in nicely and engage with culture without the language barrier.

How can your organisation add value to the lives of expats / internationals in the Maastricht Region?
We are collaborating with visitmaastricht.com to offer a complete online cultural calendar in English, we provide a section in English in the printed cultural calendar and we’ll hopefully soon be sending out a newsletter in English.

What is the best thing about living in the Maastricht Region?
The proximity to interesting cities and countries, there is so much going on within an hour's travel time. From Liege and Aachen. I remember when I was working on a cattle station in the Australian outback, when the closest supermarket was a 6 hour drive away. It really made me appreciative of the quality and quantity of what the Maastricht Region has to offer.

How can expats / internationals contact your organisation?
Please check out weekinweekuit.info or visitmaastricht.com and we are also active on Facebook and Instagram.
