youRegion: Welcome event

Our twice-yearly Welcome Event is returning on Thursday evening, 30 September, and it’s not just open to newcomers to the Maastricht Region, but all newcomers from the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. Not sure what the Euregio Meuse-Rhine is yet? Head over to the youRegion website to find out more.

The start of the program will be at the Muziekgieterij from where we will continue to the Sphinx building. There, one of Maastricht’s very own city guides will show us around the vibrant Sphinxkwartier. This is a recently redeveloped area where Maastricht's industrial heritage has been given a new, contemporary and distinctive interpretation – where the ingrained traces of the Sphinxkwartier’s rich history have been brought to the surface once more. Afterwards, we will return to the Muziekgieterij where our guests from Aachen and Belgian Limburg are welcomed by the mayor of Maastricht. During an interactive Cultural Awareness lecture (hosted by Maastricht University) we have an opportunity to get to know each other. The evening will be closed with drinks & fingerfood.

  • 18:30 – 18:45 Walk-in (Muziekgieterij)
  • 18.45 – 18:50 Departure to Sphinx building
  • 18:50 – 19:50 Guided citywalk Erwin Gerardu through Sphinx Quarter
  • 20:00 – 20:10 Welcome by Annemarie Penn-te Strake, Mayor of Maastricht
  • 20:10 – 20:50 Interactive Cultural Awareness lecture, Maastricht University
  • 20:50 – 22:00 Drinks & finger food

     

What do I need to bring to the event?
To gain access to this event, you must bring a valid proof of testing in the CoronaCheck app or printed (via www.coronacheck.nl) or the Digital Corona Certificate (DCC), your ID and your registration for the event.
