Deadline for Brexit residence permit applications: 30 September 2022
12 July 2022British citizens residing in the Netherlands who have not yet applied for a Brexit-verblijfsvergunning (residence permit) can do so until 30 September 2022 at the latest.
After Brexit, British citizens living in the Netherlands had to apply for a special Brexit residence permit. When the application deadline had passed (which was 1 October 2021), it turned out that not all British citizens had submitted their application for a residence permit. The Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) decided to apply a flexible policy for another year and applications that were submitted after that date were still processed. The end of this flexible policy is now in sight.
From 1 October 2022 regulations for Brexit residence permit applications will be more strictly applied.
