New NL rules for shopping online

Before 1 July, one only had to pay VAT and other import fees if the value of the products was €22 or higher. Now however, we are required to pay VAT regardless of the value of the goods purchased. This was decided by the EU.

How do we pay? Import tax payments need to be made via PostNL. This can be done via the PostNL app, or in person at the post office. Please be aware of scam SMS’s, PostNL never send payment requests using hyperlinks. The safest way to pay is via the PostNL app.
